Welcome to our history section, in here you'll find out exactly how Nun the Weiser was formed and how we have evolved into the band we are today.

It all began back around October 2005, Phil and myself (Scott) were both working for the same company, we both had mentioned in the past that we played guitar although agreed not very well. Phil mentioned that a local bikers pub called "The Patriots" ran a jam night on a Thursday evening. Phil invited me to come along one Thursday with my guitar. I went along and saw the place and was convinced I wouldn't come out alive, but thankfully I did. After having a brilliant night at The Patriots, I saw Phil the next day at work and asked if he wanted to maybe start a small band basically just for a bit of fun. Phil obviously was thinking the same thing(great minds), so we started jamming in Phils garage along with Phil's son Jamie on Drums. The first song we learnt was UFO-Doctor Doctor, we thought it sounded brilliant although we had no bass guitar or vocals. After a while of playing Doctor doctor and ZZtop-Tush, Jamie decided he would like to have a go at playing bass, so we asked Adam Gregory another collegue from British Airways who was a fantastic drummer if he would play drums for us, he agreed but this was short lived as he was in a thrash metal band and couldn't give us much time so Adam left and Jamie went back to the drums.

By this time it was the new year, 2006, we said that this year we were going to get this thing off the ground. So Phil enlisted the help of his brother Jeff Saunders. With Jeff singing for us we had four songs on our set list these were.. Doctor doctor, Tush, Wishing well and Rocking in a free world. We were still short of a bass player. Luckerly one of the Patriots Russ said he played bass and would like to join forces with us, so now we were a five piece band.

Unfortunatly, the band was being held back and taken into a direction we didn't want it to go. So we decided to end it. A little time later Phil & myself decided we wanted to get it all going again. We asked Jamie if he would like to rejoin but due to work and girl comitments he declined. We then asked Adam if he would give us some of his time as his band wasn't really happening at that time, he agreed. We also knew of a bass player by the name of Geraint Jones who was in another band at the time, but we asked him if he would give us a bit of his time he agreed and eventually left his other band. So now all we needed was a singer.

All of a sudden, out of the blue, Phil's nephew Justin Saunders popped up and asked if he could audition. When he did we were blown away he had an amazing voice very simalar to Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. Justin got the job and the first official band line up was complete.

Now we were a five piece band we needed a name. For some reason Phil and I were thinking of lager names and Budweiser popped up. I then suggested altering these names into something. I was then thinking of weiser and straight away none the wiser was in my head, but Phil thought we should spell it "NUN" the WEISER and there it was our name was born

"NUN THE WEISER"

Shortly after, whilst at work, a new guy started by the name of James Wilshire. James was a very quiet guy who didn't tell us much about himself. After a few weeks of discussing our band James let on that he played keyboards in fact had his grades in piano. Well of course Phil's, Adam's & my eyes lit up. So we asked him to come and have a jam with us at a practice sesson. As soon as he started playing we knew that we needed keyboards, it filled the sound up and would make us stand out from the other bands. James agreed to join and has been with us ever since (thankfully).

Unfortunately Justin has since left us, so now I have taken over as lead vocalist and hopefully I will carry on where Justin left off and make all the other members proud.

We also have a new Bass player called Judi, she is a brilliant player, definatley the best we have ever had. We all hope she stays with us for a long time.
